Update: opening the link with firefox in safe mode has a slightly
different effect - the computer freezes, i.e. no response to
mouse/keyboard, even <Ctrl-Alt-Backspace>, <Ctrl-F2-F8>, etc. I don't
have time to play around with debug extensions right now, but I'll try
to get the backtrace later this week.
