Public bug reported:

Since some days I can't start more my firefox. While starting by Applications>Internet>Firefox nothing happens. Starting over the commandline I receive the follwoing message, which I think has nothing in common with firefox:
> Cutting log (size: 101270, max: 100000)

While starting in safe mode nothing happens and returns without message
to the command line.

I habe the following packages installed:
ii firefox-3.0 3.0~b4+nobinonly-0ubuntu1 lightweight web browser based on Mozilla

ii firefox-3.0-gnome-support 3.0~b4+nobinonly-0ubuntu1 Support for Gnome in Mozilla Firefox

  Installed: 3.0~b4+nobinonly-0ubuntu1
  Candidate: 3.0~b4+nobinonly-0ubuntu1
  Version table:

I thought the problem could be with a new extension installed, thus I
created a new profile withe the profile-manager. In this case I get a
messagebox "Close Firefox - Firefox is already running, but is not
responding [...]". There is any process running for firefox not mozilla
('ps ax' and 'ps -A') When I start firefox as root (sudo su, firefox) I
get the same error.
