Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

System Sound is not responding to any YouTube Videos. There is NO
response or noteable change if I increase OR decrease the sound using
the the Sound Control up in the Panel. The only thing that works if I
increase or decrease the volume by manually pressing the buttons on the
speakers themseleves.

The same is true if you are watching a QuickTime Video.
