[Bug 201311] Re: Back & Forward buttons do not work properly

see screenshot, I am now at work, Thunderbird 2.0.0.12 on WinXP using Imap
onto our mail server, you will notice I opened an email and the back and
forward buttons are greyed out so I cannot use them, why? I can use the
B or F keys then the buttons start working only for emails I have opened
using the B & F keys, bizarre behaviour.
Surely the B & F keys and the Back & Forward buttons should do the same
thing?

can be added via customise toolbar, and they do not seem to work as expected,
when in an open email and I want to jump up and down my emails without returning
to the list I can press the B or F keys, when added to the toolbar the "Back"
and "Forward" buttons are greyed out unless it is marked as unread or you
have already use B or F, should they do the same as the B and F keys?
