This is related to the zoom feature in Firefox.  Select
"View,Zoom,Reset" from the menu, or press Ctrl+0.  Does this make the
problem go away?

You can also use Ctrl+MouseWheel to change the zoom level.

Apparently Firefox remembers the zoom level, and stores it in a
different location for each site.  This is why the image appears larger
on the local site versus the remote site.

In Firefox 2, IIRC, the zoom level always reset to 100% when you left a
page.
