The generic Linux Firefox-3.0 tarball from mozilla.org has this build
id:

Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008052912
Firefox/3.0

The difference in Gecko version causes the XForms add-on to not work as
it is sensitive to the Gecko version. It shows just the XML instead of
the XForms controls expected.

BTW, don't go looking for the XForms add-on at Mozilla, that's the 2.0
version. The test 3.0 versions are at http://philipp.wagner.name
/mozilla-xforms/
