Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

Firefox 3.0rc1 on Ubuntu 8.04 from mirror of official repositories

Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008060309
Firefox/3.0

Steps to reproduce bug on my system:
1. have history sidebar open (Ctrl-H)
2. type in a valid webpage address in location bar
3. firefox crashes!

This behaviour certainly did not occur in previous versions of firefox
as far as I am aware.
