I have a similiar problem on my laptop running Hardy while the Desktop, also with Hardy, does not have this problem and performs all necessary tasks normally.
my message is as below;

Bad Referer
You have accessed this page through an invalid referer.
This activity has been logged.
  	
Remote ID: 	    	142.32.83.250
User Agent: 	    	Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008060309 Firefox/3.0

The site I'm trying to access and am successful is bcauction.ca but then when trying to login to bid or pay for items get the bad referer message.
 I've disabled all addons and ad deleted all cookies but no success.
