I have this in Sunbird and it works as expected (i thought i had this one but couldnt remember. i will attach screenshot and check the link to be sure its same one.
Yep it is the same one. if you are using 0.7 please let me know i have 0.8 builds that you can help test before i get them into backports.

Link to get 0.8 is at:https://edge.launchpad.net/~gnomefreak/+archive
You may want to just download the packages needed if you dont want flash or PA updates, Please let me know if you still have the issue. I suggest the following
1. remove your lightning package
2. remove your profile for lightning (should be in ~/.mozilla/lightning or lightning maybe named something else. i have ~/.mozilla/sunbird sinc ei use sunbird.)
3. Than install lightning and add your icals back to it.
4. let me know what you find out with 0.8 on this bug report.

I will try to have someone else test this on 0.7 as well or i will once
i get my Hardy partition working as it is broken atm
