This mornings Ubuntu update to Firefox RC1 has caused this same problem
for me.

firefox-3.0
3.0~rc1+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.8.04.1

Starting Firefox with a clean new profile gives this error message:

*** Exception loading string bundle: Component returned failure code:
0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE) [nsIStringBundle.GetStringFromName]

The UI outcome is that the Navigation toolbar contains no visible
buttons and no URL bar. The buttons appear to be there if I hover over
them, but they have no icons. I am using the Clearlooks Gnome theme with
the Human icon set.
