Hi Shaun

Can you try going to update manager > preferences > authentication >
restore default keys, and seeing if that changes anything?

If it's still a problem, can you go to a command line, and run "sudo
aptitude update" followed by "sudo aptitude upgrade" and attach the
output here. This will do the same process that update manager does, but
with more text output.
