[Bug 236933] [NEW] E: dpkg was interrupted

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

Linux runs great.
I like this OS a lot.

The problem is that after running Ubuntu 8.06 for a few days the package handler quits working.
I get this message...

"E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem. 
E: _cache->open() failed, please report."

I don't know what this is all about, i cannot install any further
software now.

It says to please report, so here is your report.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
