[Bug 186714] [NEW] Firefox refusing to run cgi scripts on local host

Public bug reported:

This is Ubuntu 7.04, Firefox 2.0.0.11, Apache2.

When I attempt to run a cgi script from a web page on the local host,
Firefox  running on the local host gives me the "You have chosen to open
... which is a: CGI script" message.

However, from Firefox on another machine, everything works properly.
Also, Firefox on the machine which has the problem is able to open cgi
scripts served from other machines.

To summarize:

Apache and Firefox on machine 1: failure.
Apache on machine 1, Firefox on machine 2: success
Apache on machine 1, IE on machine 2: success
Apache on machine 3, Firefox on machine 1: success.

The second configuration above demonstrates that I have permissions,
etc. configured correctly on machine 1. The fourth configuration
demonstrates that Firefox on the problem machine is able to run scripts
when served from other machines.

This situation may have arisen when I installed recent updates. Firefox
and Apache have worked together properly on this one machine (machine 1)
in the very recent past.
