I tried that, now I don't get ANY sound.

When I go to System > Preferences > Sound and press test (no matter
which is selected, USB Audio, OSS or Alsa, ESD, Autodetect etc) I get
these error messages:

audiotestsrc wave=sine freq=512 ! audioconvert ! audioresample !
gconfaudiosink: Could not open resource for writing.

audiotestsrc wave=sine freq=512 ! audioconvert ! audioresample !
gconfaudiosink profile=music: Could not open resource for writing.

audiotestsrc wave=sine freq=512 ! audioconvert ! audioresample !
gconfaudiosink profile=chat: Could not open resource for writing.

Help please! I need my sound back ASAP! :(
