[Bug 184744] URL "smb://..." works in location bar & tool bar, not as link

Some of my bookmarks are for files accessed over the network, with URLs
of the form

smb://ray/D-DRIVE/...

[This is a Windows shared drive.]

I like to make my bookmarks file my homepage, but if I do, these
particular links don't work.  Yet if I "copy link location" and paste it
into the location bar, it works just fine.

Likewise, if I put such a bookmark in the "bookmarks toolbar folder",
the button in the bookmarks toolbar works.
