Incorrectly (interpreted).  I had used the distro version since gutsy 
became available.   Then firefox 2.0.0.11 became available, and I simply 
opted to perform a Help > About Firefox to see what it said.  The response 
was 2.0.0.8.   I figured that was odd, so I performed ls -l 
/usr/bin/firefox, and forget if it showed a binary or symlink to 
../lib/..

To verify/quite what the 2.0.0.11 firefox really does say in Help > About, 
I visited mozilla.com, obtained the original, extracted it, placed it in 
/usr/local/bin/firefox, and redirected /usr/bin/firefox to 
/usr/local/bin/firefox/firefox.   That accurately showed 2.0.0.11 under 
Help > About.   I then completely closed the mozilla.com version, opened 
the older version, selected Help > About, and, again, got 2.0.0.8.
