It could be me but it sounds like you are referring to:

[Menu] Edit -> [Menu Item] Preferences -> [Tab] Content -> [Button]
Colors

Uncheck 'Use System Colors'

I am using Divinorum-Orange at the moment, typing in a black textbox
with white letters without ever having touched userChrome.css
