Hi, Greg,
I created the profile as suggested (I opened your link in Konqueror, so 
I could read it while creating the profile).

(2) There's now a second problem.

I then clicked Help / Report a Bug, and I am now getting:
Apport Collecting Information
Apport Uploading [something]
Firefox - Choose User Profile

I select the newly created and named try_a_new_profile,  and click Start 
Firefox (it's already running, of course), and then I get a dialog saying:
"Profile in Use
Firefox cannot use the profile "try_a_new_profile" because it is in use.
To continue, close the running instance of Firefox or chose a different 
profile."

I closed the previous window, and clicked Start Firefox in the above
dialog.

(1) Firefox started up, and has displayed the original bug-reported
dialog:

"[Icon: Exclamation Mark in a Yellow Triangle] File not found

Firefox can't find the file at 
/home/homer/"https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox/+filebug/9jIdEIOCDpA3vDuvp8yWpS6FYiU?".

    *   Check the file name for capitalization or other typing errors.
    *   Check to see if the file was moved, renamed or deleted.
[Button: Try Again]"

Clicking the button did nothing further.
