Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox

Ubuntu Hardy, up to date.

Sometimes after coming up from suspend (but may have been other times as well) firefox does no longer start. Stracing showed it accessing the ESD socket among the last active syscalls.
If I remove /tmp/.esd-1000/socket it starts up fine.

This can be very annoying because it gives no indication why it hangs . Even when started from the console it only says this
** Message: GetValue variable 1 (1)
** Message: GetValue variable 2 (2)
** Message: GetValue variable 1 (1)
** Message: GetValue variable 2 (2)
** Message: GetValue variable 1 (1)

which is the same for a successful start up. The only alternative is
logging out and back again.

** Affects: firefox (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
