I tried following the link you provide
(http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/c7/SVG.svg) and firefox
crashes indeed. I saved the log, which is attached.

I also verified and I'm running the latest version of firefox
(3.0.1+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.8.04.3).
