[Bug 252952] [NEW] Desktop URL shortcuts open slowly

Steps to reproduce:

1. open https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/intrepid in Firefox
2. drag icon from address bar to desktop
3. open URL
4. the window list shows an entry for 'Opening Intrepid' after ~7 seconds
5. the URL is now launched in Firefox
6. after ~15 seconds the 'Opening Intrepid' window list entry is cleared

Note: I've seen this behaviour for all (back to 6.10???) Ubuntu releases
and on different machines.
