[Bug 255137] [NEW] no font hinting

Public bug reported:

In ubuntu 8.04 firefox 3 uses its own font hinting. According to some
firefox bug reports, this is because it isn't compiled with the option
-enable-system-cairo. Why isn't it compiled that way? See this thread:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=665486.

I'm using xubuntu without anti-aliasing but with hinting. Firefox
doesn't anti-alias (like all other programs don't do) BUT it also
doesn't hint, which makes fonts look very ugly.

** Affects: firefox (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
