Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: thunderbird

I'm using Ubuntu 7.10 and Thunderbird version (20080227) (just
added normally from Ubuntu

I have copied the inbox file from my backup of the thunderbird folder
(from my windows version of Thunderbird) to the mail folder in the
Thunderbird profile folder. But I still cannot see my old emails when I
start Thunderbird again. I have also tried to copy the inbox file into
the Local folder (Global).

When I check the error-console in the tool-menu, the following shows:

Error: uncaught exception: [Exception... "Component returned failure
code: 0x80550005 [nsIMsgFolder.getMsgDatabase]"  nsresult: "0x80550005
(<unknown>)"  location: "JS frame ::
chrome://messenger/content/mailWidgets.xml :: parseFolder :: line 2061"
