I disabled all extensions and purged flashplugin-nonfree. Then I went
through aptitude and search for any other package containing "flash" in
the package name. There were no others installed. Did all this and
restarted FF. the tuifly URL as well as youtube.com start page would
still crash Firefox.

I then tested out epiphany. Neither wengophone.com, the TUIFly URL or
youtube.com crashed. Strangely enough, the flash applets were being
played without a problem. So it looks like the plugin was not cleanly
purged.

** Changed in: mozilla-firefox (Ubuntu)
       Status: Confirmed => Triaged

** Summary changed:

- [gutsy] Firefox crashes reliably on a number of sites
+ [gutsy] Firefox crashes reliably on a number of sites (flash problem?)
