Asac, I worked on this and fixed the 3 problems you found :

1. Done
2. It was in the iceowl-extension-locales package because it was designed for icedove 1.5, it's not needed anymore in Gutsy so I just removed the transitionnal package section from the script.
3. I added a detailed ReadMe because I think that it's too soon to speak about all-automatic build process. The addNewXPI.sh script is designed to make the process of adding/updating one or a lot of languages very more simple but it will needs to have little modifications each time that there will be a new lightning-extension ( has described in the ReadMe ) and that's why I think that it's better keeping the script in the actual state. It will prevent the build process from being hang for reasons like bad Lightning version number or else. If you disagree, please let me know and I'll see what I can do.
