Hi, thanks for the reply :-)

Don't think it's a video driver problem - I've got the same problem on both
my laptop (an HP) and my desktop (a Dell). It happens both with or without
Desktop effects and affects all pages with Flash-based videos. On both
machines I've tried all the drivers available for the video cards with no
difference.
