Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox

My intranet uses POST forms. The result is another page, of course.
"View Page" shows me the resulting page in Firefox's cache. But "Save
Page" re-fetches the page from the server. Since the POST data is not
re-sent, I actually save a DIFFERENT page from the one I see. "View
Page" shows me the page from Firefox's cache, and does not re-fetch it.
But even in "View Page", if you use "File / Save Page As", it re-fetches
the page.

Since the Web Developer Toolbar uses "Save Page" to pass local pages on
to the w3c validator, what I am validating is not the page I am looking
at!

The only way I have found to get the actual page is to bring up "View
Page Source", then Ctrl+A and Ctrl+C to copy it all to the clipboard and
paste it into a text editor (I use kwrite). Then I can save it there.

Earlier versions of Firefox did not have this problem. I presume that
they did a "Save Page" from the cache which is where "View Page Source"
is getting the text from.

Any page which is regenerated when fetched (e.g. *.php) can give untrue
"Save Page" results when the page is re-fetched. This is not limited to
POST forms - even a page which shows the date and time will, I presume,
generate a different time when it is re-fetched.
