[Bug 164787] Font Size in Thunderbird is not "Sticky"

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: thunderbird

I am an enthusiastic newcomer to Ubuntu Linux (v7.10) and to Thunderbird
and Firefox. Accordingly, please excuse me if my suggestion is stupid.
I am not a developer, but I am an experienced Windows XP user and a
part-time home computer software and hardware technician. I also do
volunteer work involving WinTel computers, and may try to switch them
over to Linus.

My problem is that the font size in Thunderbird is not "sticky." I want
to set it and keep it at 14 point, but the program keeps defaulting into
extra-extra-large. Recommend an interface change whereby the user can
select font size in points (as is the case with Windows Outlook
Express), and that font size will stay in place until a new entry by the
user changes it.

I do not want to seem ungrateful for all your impressive work, but this
is potentially a "show stopper" for me. I tried the Claws e-mail
client, but it is so stripped down that one cannot set font size or
style in it.

Best Regards, Scott Ochiltree.
