try uninstalling the package again:

sudo aptitude remove flashplugin-nonfree

restart firefox

navigate to a page containing flash content. firefox should give you a
yellow border on the top of the page concerning missing plug-in. click
it and install flash this way.

if still not working have a look at about:config and maybe post contents
here...
