[Bug 164468] Cannot install "flashplugin-nonfree" on 64 bit Gutsy

I attempted to install the Flash plugin, so that I can use flash in
Firefox on my installation of 64 bit Gutsy. However, while the
installation appeared to work, I cannot get Flash to work in Firefox.

When I navigate to the www.adobe.com website, it says I need to install
the latest Flash plugin... I seem to be stuck.
