Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: thunderbird

thunderbird might cause unnecessary disk activity. It is important for
laptop users to reduce unnecessary disk-activity because the harddrive
head might be parked or the drive might be spun down.

If thunderbird tries to get new messages and there are no new messages
there is still some disk activity.

If people would make thunderbird check for new messages each minute this
means that each minute thunderbird is accessing the disk even if there
are no new messages.

This might be one of the contributors to the famous Load_Cycle_Count bug :

** Affects: thunderbird (Ubuntu)
