Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox

FF isn't crashing on use. I close it and shut down the computer. When I
reboot the next day, I very often get the message that ff crashed. It
seems that ff doesn't terminate correctly when the user tells it to
close. If I remember correctly, enough time is given between closing ff
and asking for a shut down, so the problem doesn't seem to be that ff
doesn't have enough time to correctly do what it does when you ask it to
close. But I am not sure about this.
