Thanks for you bug report,

Firefox is not handling email. 
You can choose the application Firefox launch when you click an "email link"  with:  System—>Preferences—>Preferred Applications

It is possible to add gmail and yahoomail accounts in evolution by activating pop support.

Hotmail don't support pop so it is more complicated:
