I experience the same problem.

authority certificates seems to be empty in my firefox, i thinkk that is
not normal.

go to: 
edit - preferences - advanced (tab: encryption)  - view certificates - authorities

normally it is filled with certification authorities

maybe those certificates are needed to enable encryption.
