if you think crash during dist-upgrade caused this, maybe try to reinstall firefox. However I don't see this issue here, but I am on gnome. Maybe its some gtk theme thing which is not properly set in kde? -- GTK+ apps show wrong scrollbars https://launchpad.net/bugs/52573
