the problem also happens in Kubuntu 6.10. I've re installed the sistem (now kubuntu). Thunderbird starts working well, receiving and sending e-mails normaly. Suddenly crashes and now only works as a root. -- thunderbird crashes when tries connect to server https://launchpad.net/bugs/90964
