[Bug 90886] lose network connectivity after closing firefox

I have Bellsouth DSL using a Westell modem.  Connected to the modem is a
Netgear wireless router, but my PC is cabled to the router.  Running
xubuntu 6.06, if I close Firefox 2.02 (or it crashes) I lose network
connectivity.  I can ping my Netgear router but nothing after it.  I
have to ifdown/up the interface to restore network connectivity.  I have
no other problems with any other application just with Firefox.
