[Bug 125464] firefox fails to open external links when already running

ubuntu version : 7.10
Firefox version : 2.0.0.4+2-0ubuntu3

When firefox is already running, and another process starts 'firefox
<url>' A popup shows that says :" Firefox is already running, but it is
not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing
Firefox process, or restart your system"

When ran from the command line:

$ firefox www.google.com
