Okay, I did the update just a bit ago and it took:

xeno at choochoo:~$ apt-cache policy firefox
firefox:
  Installed: 2.0.0.4+2-0ubuntu3
  Candidate: 2.0.0.4+2-0ubuntu3
  Version table:
 *** 2.0.0.4+2-0ubuntu3 0

But, I still get the flicker.
