On edgy as well as on feisty the symlinks are properly set like:

(feisty2)asac at hector:/tmp$ ls -l /usr/lib/firefox/searchplugins
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 33 Feb 23 10:43 /usr/lib/firefox/searchplugins -> ../../share/firefox/searchplugins
(feisty2)asac at hector:/tmp$ logout
asac at hector:/tmp$ ls -l /usr/lib/firefox/searchplugins
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 33 2007-02-05 11:16 /usr/lib/firefox/searchplugins -> ../../share/firefox/searchplugins
