That's what I don't get...  I see this being highly related to
flashplugin-nonfree and don't see it being related to other things.

john, I don't see a package named "flash9" in my apt-cache .. flash 9 is
in flashplugin-nonfree ... I do have backports enabled in apt..  and
flash 9 is where this problem starts, because adobe dropped out of the
package oss support, and this gives it back

This appears to be the most appropriate place to post.
What am I missing here?
