I _think_ this is because a new Flash version has just been released.
Purging flashplugin-nonfree, and then installing again reveals this:
Unpacking flashplugin-nonfree (from .../flashplugin-nonfree_184.108.40.206.2+really0ubuntu12_i386.deb) ...

The Flash plugin is NOT installed.
Notice the md5sum mismatch, and the note that "The Flash plugin is NOT
Would this problem be fixed by upgrading the md5sum?
