[Bug 173271] Links in e-mail do not work, nor does Thunderbird Help

Binary package hint: thunderbird

Legitimate URL links within e-mails do not open either Konqueror nor
Firefox.  Clicking on the Thunderbird HELP button does nothing.  This is
a reproducible bug: it happens all the time.  This is a fresh install of
both the OS (Kubuntu 7.10) and Thunderbird.
