As you said, taken from debian. You might contact Debian's maintainer, and if he/she updates it, the package will be updated on Ubuntu too, everyone gets happy and the world, a better place. If the maintainer is not interested anymore, perhaps you could take over and become the maintainer for Debian...<br>
