ProFTPD: Question

Hi Maximilian,

Looking at the package[1], I see that it doesn't contain an "ubuntu" suffix
(e.g. 0ubuntu1 or similar), which means it's not maintained by Ubuntu, but
rather it's synced unchanged from Debian[2] with a no-change rebuild for
compatibility with openssl3. Furthermore, Packages in Ubuntu may not be
the latest. Ubuntu aims for stability, so "latest" may not be a good idea.
Post-release updates are only considered if they are fixes for security
vulnerabilities, high impact bug fixes, or unintrusive bug fixes with
substantial benefit. Therefore, chances are you're not going to see an
update to this package in 22.04 aside from a small patch.

I do not see the bug report in Launchpad you're referring to as fix
committed? A link to that would help us understand what you're talking
about. Any Stable Release Updates do take time as the upload takes a
minimum of one week before the package is released to the updates
repository[3].
