Hello together,
I kindly ask you to update the torbrowser-launcher package to version 0.3.3
in all Ubuntu versions. All torbrowser-launcher versions below 0.3.3 are
fundamentally broken and refuse to start with a signature error. It's not
possible to get a working torbrowser with them. I'm affected with Ubuntu
18.04 myself, but there are also several reports regarding 20.04 and other
Ubuntu versions:
https://github.com/micahflee/torbrowser-launcher/issues?q=is%3Aissue+is%3Aclosed
The author of Tor Browser Launcher now recommends installing the flathub
version instead of the broken outdated distribution packages:
https://github.com/micahflee/torbrowser-launcher/issues/533
However, since the distribution packages of torbrowser-launcher are the
recommended installation method for Torbrowser in many Ubuntu manuals I
know, I' d really prefer to have working packages in repositoy again.
I'm writing this mail instead of opening a simple bug report, because I
know that having a working Torbrowser is an important security aspect for
many Linux users.
Please fix this as soon as you can!
Thanks a lot
Roland
