If you try a local build you will have to make sure that all
build-dependencies are installed on your system prior to starting
the build. You can have a look at the "mk-build-deps" tool from
the "devscripts" package to help you keep track of those.
To testbuild your package without contaminating both your system
and the build environment have a look at pbuilder/pbuilder-dist.
If you have access to IRC, check out #ubuntu-motu and/or #ubuntu-
packaging on freenode, usually you will get help there.
