cdbs question

Here is a cdbs noob question, I am getting this error when building
coherence.

....
dh_makeshlibs -ppython-coherence  
dh_installdeb -ppython-coherence 
dh_perl -ppython-coherence 
dh_shlibdeps -ppython-coherence    
make: *** No rule to make target `-f', needed by `binary-predeb/python-coherence'.  Stop.
dpkg-buildpackage: failure: fakeroot debian/rules binary gave error exit status 2
pbuilder: Failed autobuilding of package
 -> Aborting with an error
 -> unmounting dev/pts filesystem
 -> unmounting proc filesystem
 -> cleaning the build env 
    -> removing directory /var/cache/pbuilder/build//23256 and its subdirectorie

Here is my rules file

DEB_PYTHON_SYSTEM := pycentral

include /usr/share/cdbs/1/rules/debhelper.mk
include /usr/share/cdbs/1/class/python-distutils.mk

# No idea whether this is useful

any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
