erm... looks like we got two pages now:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MOTU/Processes/SRU
and
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MOTU/SRU
whereas the latter is quite elaborate already.
While trying to look at the differences, imo it makes more sense that the
sru-team acks the upload to -proposed. Otherwise an reject fro the sru-team
would mean that the whole testing process was useless and would have to be
redone.
Also I like the idea to have a separate sru-bug which summarizes the bugs the
update is involved. That way, there is a clearer distinction between the
discussion about a particular bug and the discussion about the sru itself.
See [1] and [2] for an example.
What's unclear yet is what quorum the sru-team has. Since we have 4 members, I
propose a quorum of 3. If this doesn't work out, we can still lower it to 2.
Btw.: It would be good to have a final policy soonish, since there are already
SRU-requests pending:
[1]: https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/dmraid/+bug/68294
[2]: https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/dapper/+source/gcl/+bug/43150
[3]: https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/dapper/+source/lighttpd/+bug/59269
(...)
Cheers,
Stefan.
