All Day, Bug Day, Hug Day

Hi everybody!

Last week, we realised that we were being incredibly unfair to people by
setting Bug Day to last only twenty-four hours. Why, that was quite UTC
centric of us. Since Bug Day is all about working together to identify,
sort, and fix bugs, we don't want to leave anyone out.

The Ubuntu BugSquad [1] offers help, advice, and hugs for people who
want to help make Dapper the best darn release we've ever made. So
you're welcome to participate from now until midnight UTC-12. And if
you stick around after that, you get brownie points.

Everybody likes baked goods.

The focus for this week's HUG DAY is, appropriately enough, time
problems. Our goal is to have all timezone, clock, and other
time-related problems examine, forwarded upstream, or fixed by us.

And every time you close a bug, then you'll get a hug from someone else.
Why? Because we love you. And because awesome people deserve awesome
hugs.

Don't forget, there is a page [2] where you can list the bugs that annoy
you the most. Fixing these bugs gets your extra points and extra hugs.

Who can help out? Everybody! You don't have to be a guru or a coder.
Everyone is welcome. If you don't know how to help, we'll be happy to
show you the ropes. Just join #ubuntu-bugs on a freenode IRC server.

In a Bug Day, you can
 * work in a nice team,
 * make sure the bug reporters' concerns are heard,
 * gather all the information needed so developers can fix bugs,
 * close useless bugs,
 * find out where the bugs come from,

and eventually

 * work together with upstream to make changes happen,
 * get experience in hacking and fixing bugs.

We will try to triage as many bugs as possible, but specifically look
into the targets outlined at
     http://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuBugDay

We can't stress it enough: everyone can help. So join us for the Hug
Day!

Make a difference: join the Bug Day on TODAY, May 10rd. We will be in
#ubuntu-bugs (Freenode) all day and night and day, and will be ready to
answer your questions about how to help.

If you're new to all this, head to

Have a wonderful day,
